Turkeys=Eaten & Thanksgiving=Over

It's late and I'm Provo bound in the morning. I have mixed feelings about it I have to admit! It's FREEZING and snowy there, and it's slightly cold and sunny here. My roommates are in Utah and I am here. Pros and cons I suppose.

Break has been great and I'm always reminded of how blessed and grateful I am when I come home- thanksgiving or not. I am unbelievably lucky to have such strong friendships here that have endured my whole life. People who care about me and make me feel so so loved every time I see them.

We spent a lot of time over break shopping, which is hardly unusual if you know the Turners. Especially my mom and I. We hit Tysons and Reston Town Center on black Friday and Eastern Market on Saturday. This all goes without mentioning the ribbon outlet, Target, Nordstrom Rack and other random places. We love to shop that's for sure!

Unfortunately, I was a slacker in the picture department so I have zero exciting pictures of me doing anything. Luckily I have Christine to take care of me in that department :) We said our goodbyes to James and I promised to send him chex muddy buddies on his mission. Can I do that while I'm in London? hm.

Well back to Provo I go for a bittersweet last few weeks. Pros: end of the semester and London bound next semester! Cons: no more 304 and no more BYU Provo (yes, i'm slightly sad about it). I've been a pro and blog updates this week since I've had some free time on my hands- my head will begin the "stress spinning" again tomorrow. Just hope that I don't have to sit by Greg on my flight back.

Happiest of Thanksgivings

I have SO much to be grateful for this thanksgiving. To name a few:
great friends who take such good care of me
the best family I could ask for

going to school and learning about what I love
BYU- yes I love it despite it's weird quirks
having the gospel in my life
a job that i enjoy
LONDON
being home with my family
mexican food
having my extended family close in utah

witty roommates

What are you grateful for?
Happy Thanksgiving!
Gratitude is a mark of a noble soul and a refined character. We like to be around those who are grateful. They tend to brighten all around them. They make others feel better about themselves. They tend to be more humble, more joyful, more likable- Elder Wirthlin

Delta Drag

I flew home to VA today- finally. And I have to admit I was half dead this whole week trying to trudge through everything that had to get done, trying to have fun, working hard etc etc. Going to midnight showing of Harry Potter then working in the morning? not a great idea. So by the time I arrived at the airport I felt the need to just sleeeeep. Too bad Sara.

I got on the plane settled myself in my seat, all ready to just relax.
Then people came and sat next to me.

It all started with the normal chit chat about where we were going, where we were from, yada yada yada. It was fine, usually those conversations fade and you mind your own business the rest of the flight. Too bad "Greg" didn't feel the same way. He talked the WHOLE FLIGHT. The whole flight! Oh my gosh I wanted to leave so badly but where do you go when you're sitting on an airplane for hours!? He told me all about his career, his ethnicity, his college years, his political opinions, etc. I listened politely but started just giving one word responses. Not okay. He then said, "You were so perky when we got on the plane, are you grumpy or something now?" ughhhhh.

I tried listening to my iPod- he would tap me to talk to me.
I tried loading pictures on my computer- he commented on all of them.
I tried to play a game on my phone- he wanted to know all about it.
I tried looking out the window- he wanted to know what I was thinking about.
I tried sleeping- he observed that I was having a hard time falling asleep.

This 45 year old man would NOT leave me alone. He asked me all about my life, tried to set me up with the cowboy from Wyoming with shoulder length hair who was sitting in our row, kept telling me how cute I was and wanted me to help him find baggage claim. Leave. Me. Alone.

Finally, we were getting off the plane and I clung to Sarah Gerard for support, only to find out that a couple sitting in front of me was listening the WHOLE time and they were supremely entertained but thought it best I stick with them at baggage claim to avoid the creep. Thankfully my parents came in so I wasn't standing there vulnerable to his creepiness.

Thank goodness I'm away from that man. Never seat me next to him again Delta, never again.

Don't Worry, Be Happy

I often tell people that, "I have problems" because I am ALWAYS stressed about something and once I get going on something... there's no stopping the freaking out.

A prime example of this are my "Sunday Night Freakouts". Nearly every sunday night (I've calmed down some for the record), I plan out my week and realize how much I have to do and have going on which leads to freaking out. This is weekly around 9:30pm if you ever want to be extra nice to me at that time every week. :)

While this week is PARTICULARLY busy, this song came on earlier and I realized I should chill out because as stated in the song: In every life we have some trouble, When you worry you make it double. Don't worry, be happy.

I feel like her face expresses exactly how I'm feeling right now haha

So I'm here- trying not to worry, and be happy :) C'mon Thanksgivinggggg! Hurry!

autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile

Well, fall is coming to a close. I'm not sure I've ever been more sad about it! Summer is the most devastating season to see end (which it was don't get me wrong) but fall is coming in a close second this year. It all started with the threats of snow. What do they say about winter? In like a Lion, out like a lamb? Does that saying apply? I think it does anyway. So anyway, there have been some snow "dustings" but it's coming, I can feel it! The leaves are slowly falling, luckily there are still some pretty colored ones. I've started to pull out my coats, uggs and scarves in full force. I even had to drive with gloves on my way to work because my steering wheel was freezing.
Can you tell I'm not a fan of winter yet?
I'd pick summer any day.
Okay okay, winter isn't that bad.
I love wearing cute socks.
I love drinking hot chocolate.
I love wearing scarves.
I love the way snow looks.
I love how quiet it feels.
I love Christmas.
And this next year: LONDON.

This last week we got our "final" schedule of events while we are in London. I haven't been more excited then I am at this point, and it'll only get better! One of the most exciting things is that we will be in Ireland for St. Patrick's Day! I'm already in love with living in London. Here. I. Come.

these are a few of my favorite things...

In the last few weeks I've discovered a few things that I love. Little and silly things, but they are the things that make me smile.

1. The Disney Pandora Station.
2. Looking over my shoulder to everyone in the backseat as I drive over speedbumps
3. Scarves
4. Random phone calls, facebook posts, texts, etc- from people I don't talk to often but love.
5. Wallyball
6. Mail
7. Roommate-isms (house points, grateful lists, and love notes.
8. A full drawer of underwear
9. Communicating
10. Sammy's cupcake milkshakes
11. Lil' Wayne & Justin Bieber

Life Update: Last week I got a surprise visit from my sister! No one told me she was coming(everyone knew but me) and my cousin Megan met me for lunch with Annie as a surprise! It was great! I love love love having pieces of home here with me in Utah. My favorite part of her visit was probably when we took a drive up through the mountains. We were the only ones up there for the most part that day and it was AMAZING to see how huge the mountains were and how little we were. It was beautiful and peaceful and I loved every minute of it.

School is kicking my butt and while my brain is always on "frazzle" mode, all is well in that department. Just trying to keep up with everything :)

The countdown has begun for Thanksgiving break! (Less than 2 weeks if you were wondering!) I'm a little obsessed with home so I am super excited! I plan on going to the eastern market and rio grande, seeing my friends and most importantly my FAMILY! Not to mention all the yummy thanksgiving foods! While the next few weeks will be sooooo stressful, I can hardly wait to get on my plan the 19th at 5pm :)
