PSI Swag

My job is rad. Really I could leave it at that but sure, fine, I can talk more about it I suppose. The two aspects on my mind as of now are our Company Retreat and my PSIers.

Retreat:
So this last week we had a retreat up in Heber where we were going to focus on some of our company values. We were excited but had no real idea of what we were getting ourselves into. Best. Trip. Ever. We had a training in the morning that was no ordinary training- purely entertainment. Then we partied as we do. We went paintballing, 4 wheeling, sledding, got spa treatments (waxes, manicures, facials, massages), went swimming and karaoked. Royal treatment. We had a total blast at this gorgeous lodge and it was so fun to get to know some of the people I don't work with on a daily basis.

My paintball experience was spent mostly laying in the snow avoiding getting welts from paintballs. I was sucessful.

That guy in the gray, dancing and sitting on the mantel, that's our CEO. He did some breakdancing, serenaded the cougar, and broke it down with the karaoke.

PSIers:
My co-workers are the best around. I have made some really great friends through my job and not only do we spend our days working together but we love to hang outside the office too. Whenever I get asked why I like my job the #1 reason is the people. It makes it so easy to come to work everyday.

Thank heavens for a good job, I'm so lucky.

My Best Friend's Wedding: Marcie & Craig

We ventured down last weekend to St George to celebrate our Marcie. Lisa, Ryan, Annie and I all road tripped together and Ryan had to endure more girl talk then any guy ever should. Whoops. Marcie was beautiful, it was so fun to see her family and her smiling face.

We had a bridal shower the night before where we giggled and chatted, ya know, what girls do. It lasted late into the night and was so fun. None of us realized we had never seen Marcie since she even got engaged! Crazy. The next day was beautiful at the St George temple and then there was a beautiful, fun reception that night. But really, the best part is always spending time with my people. My Herndon/Virginia people. Saying we're friends just isn't at all accurate. We're family.

Congrats Marcie & Craig!!!

Currently Craving...

A PUPPY

I'm dying for a puppy to snuggle with everyday after work. Literally, I see cute dogs and my stomach hurts because I might die without one. I can't handle it. There have been at least 2 puppies that I have named and saved pictures of on my phone. I don't know what has come over me but I just neeeeeeeed one. Too bad I lived in a darn apartment with roommates that doesn't allow pets.

When my life is as it should be... I'll have a sweet puppy to lick my toes and snuggle on my lap.

My Best Friend's Wedding: Sarah & John

My dear Sarah Gerard (now Rhoden) got married this weekend in DC so naturally we all hoped on a plane and made our way east to celebrate!

Honestly this trip kind of snuck up on me. To the point that I don't know that I would have made it to the airport without Katherine. But hey, I got on the plane and downed those diet cokes and snacks they gave me like there was no tomorrow. Of course we had to match. It's who we are.

This was a whirlwind trip so we had to cram in a lot in a short amount of time. Before Sarah's reception me, Katherine, Katie and Quincy grabbed some shakes and fries at the shake shake and did a driving tour of DC.

The reception was so beautiful and so Sarah. She looked beautiful and was so happy. It was such a blast to see so many fun people I love and dance the night away. There was more matching involved of course.

After a night full of dancing, eating and so much laughing we had to do some more DC touring before we hopped on our flights back to life. Katie, Quincy and I walked to see the Lincoln, Korean, MLK, FDR, Jefferson and WWII Memorials. It was the most perfect day.

It was SUCH a fun weekend. We got to celebrate Sarah and her happiness and I got to spend time with some of my very best friends. We have needed some quality time together for sure. We did some dancing, had some fabulous pictures, more dancing on party buses, late night 711 runs, lots of driving around, treats galore and so much laughing. It was hard to leave.

Congrats Sarah and John, I'm so thrilled for you guys and you gave us all the perfect DC weekend!

September Photo Dump

Dearest Blog,

I'm sorry that you so often get neglected. I often use you as the site to see if my internet is working and to show pictures sometimes. Apparently you are used as a way to connect to other blogs (Stacy). And others refer to blog posts because I'm just so funny (Annie O). I know you're here in the corner of the internet and I'm not ignoring you but you are loved and will be used "lightly" for now. So here are some pictures of my life. Mostly me with friends.

Liz Lemon Days

Sometimes I feel so like Liz Lemon it's eerie. You know those days where you just feel like a mess? Those are my Liz Lemon days.

Today nothing necessarily wrong happened, I just felt like a mess. I'm in the process of moving apartments so I have clothes and my junk in like 8 different places. I had a lot of "what is wrong with people!?" moments because really... what is wrong with people!? I had some moments where I just thought, "of course this would happen".

How do you cope with these oddities of life? Here are my personal suggestions:
1. Book pedicures with your favorite co worker for during your lunch break tomorrow
2. Devour left over pizza
3. Remember how you decided with your roommate that, "together, we are flawless"
4. Run off the pizza on a treadmill while trying not to laugh at the guy next to you with a hairy back
5. Send snapchats of the hairy man to your friends
6. Have a movie night with a friend to sulk about life together

And finally:

i can see clearly now

Last week I got LASIK, happy graduation to me! (thanks mom and dad!) I was a little nervous about it because the concept of sometime doing surgery on your eye is creepy, frankly. But the end result was just so appealing! Clear vision, ALL the time!? Not having to bring what feels like a lifetime supply of contacts and my glasses every time I stay over night somewhere.

It was overall a very strange experience, with a great outcome don't get me wrong. It was the weirdest thing to come out and I could tell that I could certainly see better but through a sort of haze. The first day I was slightly uncomfortable but nowhere near what I had expected based on other people's experiences. Then the next few days were quite unpleasant. I sympathize with the blind! I couldn't see and it was the oddest thing not to be able to just put on my glasses or pop in contacts. I was stuck unable to drive and unable to even lounge and really watch TV. So what do you do exactly? Thankfully I have some sweet friends who swung by, my mama in town, lots of entertaining snapchats, and episodes of Newlyweds (specifically where Jess gets Lasik, thanks Whitney!).

But now, the rain and fogginess is mostly gone thank heavens and I can seeeee! It's a miracle. So far the strangest thing is the nagging feeling that I'm forgetting something every night because I don't have to take out my contacts.

Thankfully I didn't end up like Liz Lemon and her off brand Lasik that made her start crying out of her mouth. Or like Jessica Simposn who wandered around with her bug eyes.
